Coppa Italia
AC Milan's recent Coppa Italia final hoodoo continues. Following the defeats in 2017/18 and 2015/16, the final in 2024/25 didn't end the way we wanted either. Bologna won 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Ndoye with the goal at the start of the second half. It's a devastating evening, which could have yielded our second piece of silverware this season, but instead extended our run without a cup title, which began in 2003. The Rossoneri were beaten, and Europa League qualification for next season remains up in the air. It was a golden chance and will be a source of great regret. It's a big shame and a disappointment for the Club and fans, who were brilliant in the stands at the Olimpico tonight.
Conceição's side weren't brilliant tonight; a rather different performance had been expected, given their form in the run-up to the final and the meaning of the match in question. They didn't create much, were punished by the goal and weren't effective in their efforts to equalise after going behind. In a complicated season, after a sub-par league campaign and an early Champions League exit, the Coppa Italia could, and should, have been an improvement on the situation following the Supercoppa victory. Instead, only regret. We now need to finish the Serie A season, as we await its final verdicts: Roma (Sunday night, back at the Olimpico) and Monza are our two remaining fixtures as we try to fight for fourth place.

AC Milan started brightly enough and came close in the fourth minute, as Leão played in Jiménez, who couldn't convert. But, Bologna were well in it. Ferguson fired high from long range (7') and Maignan had to be alert to gather Miranda's ball in towards Castro (10'). A big chance fell the way of the Rossoneri in the tenth minute, but Skorupski produced a miraculous double save to keep out Beukema's deflection towards his own goal and then Jović's attempt on the rebound. Chances were few and far between, but tensions were high. In the 23rd minute, Jiménez was cut off on the counter. Then, Miranda's effort was too weak to trouble Maignan (26). Apart from a weak header by Holm that was saved by Maignan (42'), there was no further action until the break.
Leão hit the turbo in the 47th minute to try to reignite the game. Holm had a go in the 50th minute: wayward, but a sign of things to come... In the 53rd minute, Fabbian's ball found Orsolini, who was tackled on the slide by Hernández, but the ball dropped to Ndoye, who kept his balance and fire it past Maignan. The Rossoneri tried to react. In the 62nd minute, Fofana drove forward but failed to find Jović, before João Felix missed the target five minutes later. Gimenez then failed to get enough on his shot (71'), followed by Castro firing off target at the other end. AC Milan couldn't carve out an opportunity, even coming close to conceding a second to Ndoye. The final push produced very little. Full-time.
