In AC Milan’s four previous meetings with Roma, the Rossonere have raked in four victories in Serie A Femminile, twice at Tre Fontane and twice more at Vismara. Tomorrow, on Sunday 15 November, all eyes will be on the Rossonere and Giallorosse for their fifth showdown for matchday eight in Serie A. So far, these encounters have always ended favourably for AC Milan. With the 4-1 win back in 27 March 2019 and the wonderful 3-2 win last January. Fixtures between the two sides have always lived up to expectations.

In the 2018/19 season, the Rossonere’s first in the top flight, the girls went from strength to strength after half time (Carolina Morace was at the helm). Manuela Giugliano (now at Roma) got them in front and Daniela Sabatino doubled their lead. After Linda Tucceri Cimini’s own goal, it was time for Valentina Giacinti to shine. Scoring a brace inside ten minutes, her second goal was a cracker; a powerful shot from midfield. It was matchday 20 of the league, and the victory took AC Milan up to 48 points in the standings, who still continued to fight for great goals.

Now, let’s turn to the fantastic comeback of last January. The Rossonere were down by two goals, due to Thomas’ brace. However, in the 70th minute, the unthinkable happened: Berglind Björg Thorvaldsdottir, playing her first match in an AC Milan shirt, halved the deficit, and a pinpoint effort from Refiloe Jane in 78th minute levelled the score. Still not satisfied, the Rossonere parked outside the guest’s penalty area, and in the 88th minute, Thorvaldsdottir gave them the lead with a header from Begić’s cross.
