With the international break now behind them, the Rossonere are nearing their return to action. Serie A and Coppa Italia (in which they are in the quarter-finals) haven't been played since the middle of November and that win against Roma (1-0). December sees them take on just two fixtures, but they are two of the spiciest: Fiorentina and Sassuolo.
It's an important juncture because these six points could make all the difference come the end of the season. As it stands, AC Milan are second (on 21 points, three behind leaders Juve) with seven wins and 19 goals scored. Then there was the double success in the Coppa Italia: 2-0 against Cesena and 4-0 against Orobica when new signings Simic and Vero managed to stretch their legs.
We start with an away trip to Florence on 5 December (12:30 CET) at the Stadio Bozzi. The Viola are fighting for the same objectives as the Rossonere: qualification to the Champions League - which they won last season at the expense of the Diavolo thanks only to mathematical algorithms. Fiorentina have always been a problematic opponent for our girls; our record in the fixture is one win at home, on draw away and two defeats. They will not be lacking for motivation.
2020 concludes at Vismara, Sunday 13 December at 12:30 CET, when Maurizio Ganz's side host Sassuolo. A lot of precaution will need to be taken when facing the Neroverdi, who are the surprise package of the current season and have caused upsets in the past. These are two very tricky games, in which all of the group will need to perform to the max to hurdles any obstacles and keep up the pace.
