A brilliant, convincing and winning AC Milan side. Against a previously unbeaten SPAL, the surprise package of the season, Giunti's Rossoneri put in an enormous performance, winning their first game at Vismara since AC Milan 5-0 Brescia on 7 March. Playing against SPAL seemed to have evoked plenty of good memories for this side, who marked their return to Primavera 1 against the Ferrarese outfit on 22 February 2020 before football was put on hold due to the pandemic.
After the undeserved defeat to Torino, our Primavera were not deterred and displayed the same great spirit seen on Wednesday but added the necessary clinical finishing in the final third.
There were a fair few missed chances before Tonin opened the scoring in the 70th minute, his first goal of the season - on his birthday too. The victory was certainly a deserved one given all of the sacrifice made by the team in each game. The Primavera are now on nine points after six matches, just two away from third place. There were also plenty of positives in the performances from Olzer, Michelis and Stanga, who was metronomic down the flanks.
The team's attitude was extremely encouraging; they were positive on the front foot with a constant deserve to move the football and create chances. In spite of recent results, they are on the right track and are growing. The Primavera are back in action on Wednesday in a Coppa Italia round of 16 tie against Fiorentina.
