After a few minutes in the second leg of the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Sassuolo, Yui Hasegawa made her true debut on Saturday in Puglia, becoming the first Japanese player in the history of AC Milan Women. And it was a dream debut: two splendid goals, one in either half, against Pink Sport, in a win that primed the Rossonere in the best way possible for the big match against Juventus next weekend.

She scored a cracking goal in the first half with a well-struck free-kick that deceived the Bari keeper to make it 4-0. After the break, she made a smart run into the box to turn Kuliš's cross home - a real striker's goal for a player that is most used to playing in midfield.

Two goals, her first in European football, that sent Japanese fans wild on social media, who made their support for Yui known during the game given the favourable scheduling for their timezone.

She needed just 66 minutes to give a good account of her ability, demonstrating that she has adapted to Maurizio Ganz's tactics very well. The Coach, who enjoyed watching the talent of Hasegawa, is hoping that the Japanese can be an extra weapon in the dream of the Scudetto.
