In their second weekend of just training between one game and the other, a rare commodity after the restart of the league, AC Milan Primavera are preparing for an away trip to Florence. The game is scheduled for 15:00 CET on Saturday 6 March and is the first of three important fixtures at the back end of the first half of the season; Fiorentina, league-leaders Roma (at Vismara) and Genoa.
As their next opponents, the Viola are the number one priority for AC Milan. Fiorentina are a decent side that aren't quite doing as well in the table as they are deserve; the Viola are currently 13th, five points behind the Rossoneri, but eliminated the Diavolo in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 just one month ago.
Picking up a few points in the coming three games would allow AC Milan to go into the business end of the season full of confidence and conviction. The prospective is a tight table. Our Primavera, after promotion last season, still need to secure safety first, only then can they look up the table.
After beating Ascoli 2-1 at the weekend, AC Milan cut the gap with Roma, Sampdoria and Atalanta. As of today, the final playoff place is occupied by Atalanta on 18 points, level with Coach Giunti's boys. Anything can happen and change in a shot space of time, so they will need to work hard with great desire and conviction.
