In the brief history of AC Milan Femminile, there had never been two consecutive defeats between the league and the cup. The defeat to league-leaders Juventus in Serie A and the loss in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final to Inter is a dip in results but also a moment, from which Maurizio Ganz's girls can rebuild, stronger than before.
These results against the Bianconere and Nerazzurre were probably not reflective of the Rossonere, beyond what the opponents created: six goals conceded in two games compared to ten in the rest of this season in all competitions. The positive, however, is that the schedule gives you plenty of chances to get back on track.
Starting with the league. With seven matches still to play until 23 May, the aim remains to pick up as many points as possible. This is as much to put the pressure on leaders Juventus as it is to secure second place that would bring about their first, historic, qualification to the Champions League. The big game against third-place Sassuolo - five points behind the Rossonere - on 16 May will surely be decisive.
The month of March, meanwhile, will conclude with two big games, with which our girls can regain a bit of confidence and consistent results. On Sunday 21, AC Milan host Empoli, a side that is not to be underestimated, at Vismara. On Sunday 28, however, the Derby in the league against Inter. This game will be a chance to taste revenge ahead of the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, which will take place at the end of April. These are two great chances, therefore, to get back on track.
