Winning a derby is always special, even at an underage level. For the Rossoneri Under 18s, it was a great sense of joy and even liberation after a difficult opening start to the championship. It was more of a mental shock than anything else, which will give an injection of confidence beyond just the three points. All the more reason because of how it came about, with the goal arriving in the 94th minute in stoppage time, scored by the forward De Carli (1-0).
This is the second success for Coach Terni’s class of 2003, the most beautiful and important so far, and the first at home after the win over Parma. The team grows, and the performances grow as a result. The month of April started in the best possible way: From a 1-1 draw at the home of the league leaders Roma, to a potentially season-changing win over Inter.
In one fell swoop last weekend, AC Milan overtook Genoa and Parma, caught up with Monza, and cut the distance to Inter Torino. Beyond the standings, the forward progress gives value to the team’s daily work, both collectively and individually. Even the goal scored by De Carli, who came off the bench in the 83rd minute and was able to decide the game, represents a beautiful sign for the group.
Now it is time to take advantage of this wave of enthusiasm on the pitch, build on this result and search for continuity. The next test is just around the corner: on the next matchday, Sunday 18 April at 15.00 CET, our U18s will travel to Genoa to conclude the first round of matches. Positive responses are expected.
