The first draw of the season in the fourth-to-last game. The Rossonere hadn't drawn once in Serie A this season; the 0-0 result against Roma was a blip for a team that is so accustomed to winning: 16 wins in 19 games, only losing twice to league-leaders Juve.
A precious draw at home against a strong side, which brings AC Milan closer to their objective, even if Sassuolo went within six points of the Rossonere. But with three games left until the end of the season, there is not a long way to go to wrap up a historical Champions League qualification.
The celebrations could begin on Sunday 9 May at 12:30 CEST when Fiorentina come to Vismara. Away from this result, they need more points than Sassuolo, especially given that AC Milan still have to play the Neroverdi away from home. AC Milan v Fiorentina was the Rossonere's very first fixture in Serie A (30 September 2018). And it was the Viola who snatched Champions League football away from the Rossonere last season due to an algorithm.
Roma will also be the opponents in the final of the Coppa Italia. Ganz's girls have shown that they have strength, quality and character. They have already beaten the Giallorosse earlier in the season (1-0) as well as in recent years (3-0 and 3-2 in 2019/20 and 2-1 and 4-1 in 2018/19). We need to dream big for the massive game on 30 May.
