AC Milan v Inter, Act 2. After the meeting in midweek in the Campionato Primavera 1, the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri youth sectors face off once more on matchday 8 in Group 2 of the Under 17 Championship. This time, the Vismara will play host to this huge match with implications for the qualification to the Scudetto Final Eight.
The only two teams left unbeaten in the group, AC Milan and Inter are playing for top spot - the only finishing position that guarantees a spot in the Finals of the national U17 division. The Rossoneri are currently top of Group 2, with eleven points from five matches played, while the Nerazzurri are in second on seven. Further behind are Cagliari (5), Monza (4) and Cremonese (bottom with 1 point).
The two sides meet for the first time following the spectacular clash in the girone d'andata just one month ago. On 25 April, it ended 2-2 at Inter's place. The Rossoneri twice took the lead through Rossi and Bozzolan before being pegged back by Owusu and Pelematti. AC Milan have, last week, already had their second bye week, a win here would all but guarantee top spot at the end of the group stage.
In a troubled season with plenty of logistical difficulties, reaching the Finals would give a talented group - as the Rossoneri's 2004's are - a new stage to show off their formative growth. As well as being a reward for all the hard work done every day by the lads and the coaching staff, who have coped brilliantly throughout this tough year.
