The Rossonere have won their last four matches between the league and Coppa Italia and are currently sat in third on 22 points, five behind Juve and two behind Sassuolo. All the signs are there for another brilliant season, especially because this team is centred around the idea of collective strength. Backing up this concept are a few stats - with some particularly simple ones.
First: this, season, Coach Ganz's side have had ten different goalscorers in twelve competitive matches in all competitions. Valentina Giacinti has scored ten in all competitions, while there have been two goals apiece for Lindsey Thomas, Nina Stapelfeldt, Vero and Christy Grimshaw. Meanwhile, Linda Tucceri Cimini, Sara Thrige Andersen, Serena Cortesi, Valentina Bergamaschi and Greta Adami have all scored one. So there is plenty of alteration in front of goal.
The other piece of trivia worthy of a mention is related to the defence. The last goal conceded by the Rossonere was on 10 October in a 1-1 draw at home to Roma, scored in the twelfth minute by Annamaria Serturini. Since then, the goal - defended in turn by Laura Giuliani, Mária Korenčiová and Noemi Fedele - has hardly come under threat. No goals conceded in their last four games, only one between October and November. Teamwork is happening all over the pitch.
As we await the team's return following the international break, Maurizio Ganz can enjoy these facts, upon which the team can build during a difficult December. The Rossonere take on Inter in the Derby on Sunday 7th before the big match against Juve on the 12th and then the second round of the Coppa Italia against Verona on the 19th.
