7 November, Hellas Verona 5-1 AC Milan. This defeat was rock bottom for the Rossoneri's Primavera side this season. But also, looking back at it today, a turning point in the year for the team led by Federico Giunti: from that moment they have secured three wins in four games in the championship, with the only setback coming in Cagliari.
Juventus, SPAL and Sampdoria. Three convincing victories and at least two goals were scored by the Rossoneri in each of them. These triumphs also share one thing in common: they were wins that came after quality performances all over the pitch. Moreover, crucially we now have with fully fit squad; including names like Stanga and Nasti. In the middle of this period, there was also a good draw in the Youth League against Liverpool, which closed out our European campaign in a respectable fashion.
This last month of the season has been a complete turnaround from the start of the season when AC Milan took five points from their first eight games and three in the five matches leading up to the November break. To tell the truth, these performances were often unlucky: just think about the game against Fiorentina at the end of October not going our way, with the Viola's decisive goal coming from their only shot of the match.
The fact that this team were more than capable of securing important results was also highlighted by the draw against Roma, which counted for two of the six points dropped in the first 12 matchdays. They lacked confidence and consistency, but these attributes have finally arrived hand in hand with results in this recent period. Now, to close out 2021, the Rossoneri will take on Pescara and Bologna, making up the bottom two in the standings. Two chances to extend this promising run and enter the new year in the best way possible.
