THE ROSSONERE'S FIRST CLASS FORM

Ten with honours. Ten being the number of goals scored in the last two league games: 6-0 against Hellas Verona, 4-0 against Sampdoria. Two crushing victories thanks to some impressive performances that have injected even more confidence and momentum into the second half of the season. AC Milan know full well that they cannot take their foot off the brakes should they wish to secure qualification for Champions League.

On the weekend, league leaders Juve were held to a draw which put an end to a 36 game winning streak, though the Bianconere still have a firm hold on the top spot. The Rossonere displayed their excellent mental and physical condition in their commanding victory over sixth place in the standings: a four-goal win marked by Thomas' classy brace as well as what has now become the customary goal of captain Bergamaschi and Piemonte's first. It also goes without saying that the whole team played exceptionally.

Second place in the standings remains at three points away, occupied by Roma and Sassuolo who have not shown signs of slowing down yet. There are still nine matchdays to go in Serie A, three and a half months, plenty of time to make up that ground. Ganz's "warriors" have already shown their strength, during the most difficult period of the season so far in mid-December and overcoming the disappointment of the Supercoppa Italiana final loss (not due to a poor performance but moments that did not go our away).

Now the championship will take a break, but after the break, the Rossonere will be up against Lazio at home. But on Sunday at 12:30, the Coppa Italia will return and we will face Samp in the first leg away from home of the quarter-finals. A new test and another important fixture.
