Established almost four years ago along with the first team, AC Milan’s women’s sector hasn’t stopped growing since. In addition to Ganz’s Rossonere, who continue to fight it out in the upper echelons of Serie A, and Corti’s Primavera, who recently enjoyed a fantastic Viareggio Cup run, praise should also be given to the Under-17 and Under-15 sides.
Vincenzo De Martino’s U17s, who had a well-earned rest this past weekend, sit in second place (three points behind Inter) after 14 wins from 15 matches in the league. In those games, they’ve scored 144 and conceded just nine. Their excellent record is proof of the harmony and quality within the team, further highlighted by Donolato (who came on as a substitute) and Polillo (who was named on the bench) being present for the final of the 2022 Viareggio Women’s Cup.
Meanwhile, Ilenia Prati’s U15s are doing even better. Indeed, they’re top of the league with a 100% record: 16 wins from 16 and just one conceded. Pro Sesto, who are three points behind, are the only side who are making a fist of challenging AC Milan. On Sunday, the Rossonere ran out 11-0 winners way to Rivanazzanese, further building on their impressive run and goal tally.
The U17s and U15s are doing fantastically well, then, in a season that continues with the interregional phase and then the national finals, from which the Scudetto winners will emerge. Ganz’s warriors have an army of valiant girls behind them, youngsters who have developed in a youth system that is constantly evolving and getting stronger, as is the case with the men’s setup.
