After a lengthy break, due in part to a window for youth level international football, Christian Lantingotti's Under-17s - one of the Club's best-performing teams this season - were back in action on Sunday.
After cruising to top spot in Group B (63 points, six ahead of Inter), the Rossoneri's 2005s qualified directly for the national quarter-finals. They were paired with Atalanta, who - after a third-place finish in the Rossoneri's group - beat Napoli and then SPAL to reach the quarter-final stage.
The Nerazzurri came out on top in the first leg, after the Rossoneri had done the double of the Dea in the regular season (3-2 at Vismara, 2-1 at the Bortolotti). Vavassori scored a late winner in the 3-2 victory after the Rossoneri had cancelled out the Nerazzurri's initial lead.
The Final Four will be played in Ascoli and in Fermo between 19 and 21 June and the Rossoneri are still well in contention. Given they finished higher in the group, AC Milan need to win by just one goal to qualify for the semi-final, where they would play either Juventus or Bologna (2-0 to the Rossoblù in the first leg). It's certainly doable snd would be a just reward for such a prolific season.
