WOMEN'S UNDER 17: ONE MORE STEP

A good result. Coach De Martino’s side recorded a 1-0 home victory over Inter in the first leg of the quarter-final showdown between the teams, with Beatrice Pecce bagging the winner after 85 minutes. It means that the women’s U17s are in a very good position ahead of the return leg, which will take place at 17:00 CEST on Saturday 11 June in Sesto San Giovanni.
The team are ready, as confirmed by the Coach: “Over the course of the season, the girls have become a tight-knit unit, allowing us to pick up that fantastic result last week. We know that another difficult match awaits on Saturday, but we’ll be ready and try to give everything until the very end because we know that something important is at stake; it’s a dream that we all have. We believe.”
If the tie finishes level on aggregate, away goals will come into play. There’s also the possibility of extra time, which would consist of two ten-minute halves, and perhaps even penalties. Should they overcome their cross-city rivals, the team would progress to the Final Four, a feat that the Women’s Primavera, who will return to action this weekend, have already achieved.
For the U17s, this would take place between 22 and 25 June (location TBC). However, it’s all about taking it one step at a time. First, our girls need to finish the job against Inter.
