It was a mature team victory for the young Rossoneri who continue to show growth. Against Cagliari, at the PUMA House of Football, the AC Milan's Primavera side controlled the entire 90 minutes, earning their second win of the season with a goal in each half. Solidity and cynicism were the decisive factors on matchday five of the league season, which takes AC Milan to six points.
The victory also brought a first clean sheet of the season. From the five goals conceded in the opener against Frosinone onwards, the Rossoneri have consolidated their defensive set-up from game to game. However, the progress is not limited to the defence: the attack has gained new life, involving more and more players. On Sunday, in fact, there was a first goal of the season for Chaka Traorè, who scored a beautiful free-kick in the first half, before the second goal was converted by young Jordan Longhi.
A key in the growth and development of the youngsters has certainly come from the prestige of playing in the UEFA Youth League. The draw in Salzburg - against last season's finalists - gave confidence and awareness to Abate's team. From now on, the Rossoneri will be looking to face their remaining European challenges with the same attitude and courage.
They take on Dinamo Zagreb - visitors tomorrow - in the second match of Group E - before a two-week break. They will get back underway at the beginning of October, against Bologna, in a period marked by a flurry of games, close to one another, playing every three days for the whole month. It is a stage of the season that will put those certainties acquired in these performances to the test.
