The Under 18s got their win of the season on Matchday 2. After fighting back to earn a draw at Bergamo last weekend, Coach Terni's side hosted and defeated Torino, who came in to the match on the back of a win over Cagliari (3-2). With four different scorers, after two goals last week and two this week against the Granata, the young Rossoneri are showing they have various weapons at their disposal.
At the PUMA House of Football, it ended 2-1 for the Rossoneri in a hard-fought contest, full of energy and intensity, where the home side were able to capitalise on the chances created, taking the lead with a goal either side of the break. After 19 minutes, Mangiameli - already in and around Abate's Primavera squad - opened the scoring, with Benedetti doubling the lead in the second half.
The maturity and courage shown in their opening day draw was seen again in the closing stages of the match, with the Rossoneri resisting the visitors' onslaught, despite them grabbing a goal back after 78 minutes to make it 2-1. The goal didn't break up the hosts' attitude and organisation, and held on to win a deserved three points.
After playing two head-heads in the opening two games, Terni's boys have returned four points in the table. Next up at the weekend is another home match, this time against Cagliari, to carry on with the good start seen so far and provide further signs of growth. Keep it up, lads!
