The Women’s Primavera recorded an important win at the weekend, beating Juventus away from home on matchday three in the league. Indeed, Galdini’s goal 14 minutes into the second half was enough to decide the match at Vinovo. The Rossonere now sit in second place in the league, above the Bianconere but two points behind table-topping Roma, who have won all their fixtures so far.
Notable is the fact that AC Milan were able to keep a clean sheet against a team that had scored 15 goals in their first two outings of the season. Having conceded just once in three games, the Rossonere currently have the best defence in the division.
When they take to the pitch at the PUMA House of Football against bottom-of-the-table Napoli on Sunday, the team will be looking to build on their good performances and, above all, pick up their first home win of the season. The Primavera have only played one match in Milan so far, drawing 1-1 with Fiorentina in their league opener. This was followed by two away games and two wins against Verona and Juve.
Coach Corti didn’t hide his satisfaction: "t was a fantastic victory, one which came about thanks to real dedication from the girls and the staff, who contribute to the players’ development on a daily basis. We knew we’d be up against one of the best sides in the league, and this must serve as a starting point and lead to a gain in self-awareness with the rest of the season in mind."
