Last weekend, the Rossoneri’s U15s beat Atalanta at the PUMA House of Football to make it four wins from four in the league, with the team currently sitting alongside Inter at the top of the table. The match against the Orobici represented a tough test for the Diavolo, who, however, passed it with flying colours and kept their third consecutive clean sheet in the process.

AC Milan made an impressive start, putting together some precise and high-quality moves and eventually taking a 25th-minute lead through Pinessi following some fine team play. The Rossoneri then showed real maturity to keep an intense Atalanta side at bay, with the visitors having upped the tempo in an attempt to draw level. In the closing stages, following a great run from full-back Tartaglia, Zaramella put the game to bed with an excellent strike from the edge of the box.

“We started very well and created several opportunities,” said Roberto Bertuzzo. “After our goal, they began to come out and play in the closing stages of the first half, but we didn’t give a lot away. We had to dig in more in the second half; they caused us problems through their physicality, but we did well to kill the game on the counter.” The Coach couldn’t hide his satisfaction with the result: “We maintained the right distances out on the pitch and did really well defensively. I like the fact that we showed excellent character; I saw the boys working together and helping each other out in difficult moments, and these are important qualities when you’re on a path of growth.”

Christian Comotto, the U15 captain, also had his say on the game: “We had to dig in more than usual because they attacked us in the second half, but we did well defensively before the second goal put the game to bed. We were expecting this type of game and knew we’d be up against a very physical side. In the first half, we showed that we know how to play very good football, but we weren’t able to finish off our chances. This is something we’ll undoubtedly work on during the week as we look to improve.”
