U18: CHRISTMAS IN THIRD PLACE

Terni's side end 2022 with a draw away from home

The curtain has fallen on 2022 for the Under 18s. The Rossoneri side have finished the year in third spot in the table on 23 points, behind SPAL (27) and Inter (25). The final game before the festive break was a 1-1 draw away to Cagliari, breaking a run of three straight previous wins against Monza, Atalanta and Torino.

It has generally been a positive first half of the season for Coach Terni and his side, who have mostly been in around the top spots in the league, overcoming some difficult challenges along the way. As we have already mentioned, the three consecutive victories earned between November and the beginning of December were vital to bounce back from a first half of the season that has seen some ups and downs.

The satisfaction was also evident in Coach Terni's recent comments: "Our evaluation of the work done during these initial stages of the season is positive. The progress has been constant, the squad have developed a clear and precise identity and, above all, have created a really strong spirit. This has surprised me somewhat because it's come about in only five months, so very quickly. But with these conditions, we can now really push on in the second half of the season and see further growth in the group and in every single player."

But for now, there is a month-long wait to take a breath and recharge the batteries. The Under 18s will next be back in action in the new year on 22 January at the Puma House of Football - Vismara Sports Centre for the top of the table clash with SPAL, already beaten in the reverse fixture in October. It's a mouth-watering test to open up 2023, with a chance to claw back the league leaders.
