A SUCCESSFUL 2022 FOR THE ROSSONERI YOUTH TEAMS

Great results on an excellent journey of growth: the calendar year drawing to a close

Victories, growth and achievement: with the calendar year drawing to a close, it is customary to take stock of the 12 months that have just gone, and these are the three key words to sum up the Rossoneri Youth Sector’s 2022. Two league titles (women's U17 and men's U15), two Finals (U16 at national level, women's Primavera at the Viareggio Tournament), two national Semifinals (women's Primavera and men's U17) and in general many lots of importance opportunities for the growth of our boys and girls.

In the year that saw the full return of youth activities, after the heavy limitations - and changes to scheduling - due to the pandemic, our representative teams performed well in all the leagues, achieving incredible results and crediting the whole Milan world. We have seen some great results in the year that the Club has renewed the youth team structuring, with the introduction of a new building in Milanello dedicated to the Primavera team and the renovation of the facilities of the Vismara Sports Centre, today known as the PUMA House of Football.

Having put the encouraging results of the first six months of the season behind them, in which the hard work of 2021 paid off, the Rossoneri youth teams have started the 2022/23 season on a high. Starting with the two "leaders", the Primavera teams: the boys, led by Ignazio Abate - finalist last year with the U16 team - have had a great UEFA Youth League campaign and are already through to the Round of 16; the girls are performing well in the Primavera 1 league, renewed in its format and with higher quality.

The performance of the younger teams is also excellent. For the boys, to date, all four teams playing in the national championships (U18, U17, U16 and U15) have qualified for their own knockout final stage, while the two main representatives of the women's sector (U17 and U15) lead their respective regional groups undefeated and are well positioned to repeat the successes of last season. So the aim for 2023 is to have a year as rich in victories, growth and achievement as the year that has just gone.
