DEVIS VÁSQUEZ: OUR FOCUS

From Colombia to Milan: Devis Vásquez has described joining the Rossoneri "a dream". The 24-year-old Colombian is the first signing for the Club in this season's winter transfer period and will strengthen even further a goalkeeping department composed of Maignan, Tătărușanu and Mirante. With his arrival coming in the first days of 2023, he is now chomping at the bit to get down and train his new teammates. Let's get to know our new shot-stopper a little better.

Standing at 1m 93cm, Devis has a strong physical presence, with his most evident qualities being his reaction speed and determination. They are qualities that, considering his age and experience, can only develop further under the wings of the Rossoneri staff. Born on 12 May 1998 in Barranquilla - Colombia's fourth biggest city for inhabitants - the goalkeeper, who will wear the number 77 shirt, started out his career in the Under 20s at Cortuluà. At youth team level, Vásquez also had two spells with Patriotas and Equidad Club Deportivo, football clubs from his homeland.

In January 2020, he moved to Paraguay to join Club Guaranì, where he first started off in the Under 23 side. His first-team debut came in February 2021, and during 2022 he established himself as the number one for the side from Asunción. In two seasons at Club Guaranì he made 28 league appearances, and three in the prestigious Copa Libertadores.

Aiming for the national side is the objective for many a player, and in attempting to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Yepes, in donning the shirt of Los Cafeteros, AC Milan will provide him an important stage to stand out in front of the onlooking Head Coach. Vásquez will be looking to work and develop his game at AC Milan and earn lots of personal satisfaction, learning the tricks of the trade from his more experienced teammates and showing everyone what he can do.
