The first leg went well, but the tie is far from over. On Sunday at the PUMA House of Football, the Rossoneri Under 17s kicked off the knockout phase that will decide the Scudetto, playing and winning the first leg of the quarter-final against Lazio: 3-2, Martinazzi's brace and Bonomi's goal. But Cuzzarella's goal in the second half keeps the tie alive.
A match full of emotions, in which for the Rossoneri the offensive department made the difference. Despiter going behind in the first half (Sanà), in the second half Martinazzi and Bonomi - thanks also to the support of Di Siena and Sia, key in the team's reaction - scored in a great comeback. There will be regret that a fourth goal did not come, and instead Lazio scored the first leg's final goal.
Qualification is still up for grabs, the second leg will be a battle. AC Milan collected more points (58 to 57) than the Biancocelesti in Group B of the regular season, but with more games played. Consequently, they have a lower coefficient than Lazio: this, along with first leg victory, means Lantignotti's team to go to Rome on Sunday needing either victory or a draw; in the event of defeat by just one goal, (a draw on aggregate), there will be neither extra time nor penalties and AC Milan would be knocked out.
The eventual semi-final would be played over one game, against either Roma or Atalanta (1-0 first leg win for the Giallorossi) in the next possible round. On the opposite side of the draw, in the quarter-finals, results were Parma 5-5 Inter and Juventus 3-1 Fiorentina. Time to recharge the batteries ahead of a decisive weekend.
