AC Milan Under 16's run ended in the Semifinals, eliminated over two legs by Roma. Two defeats that brought to an end the competitive season of Coach Baldo's squad, but that must not cancel out a very positive journey full of important signs.
A star-studded first round - 44 points in 18 matches to top Group B - followed by four victories in the first two knockout rounds. In the victories over Udinese and Empoli, among others, the Rossoneri kept a clean sheet, thus confirming what had been the best defence in the group and the third in the entire championship.
Moving to the attack, on the other hand, it is Francesco Camarda who is the team's top scorer: after 22 goals in the first phase came four goals in the knockout stages. 26 goals in total, clear of the 10 of the other Rossoneri in double figures, Mattia Liberali. In the end, 15 Rossoneri players scored during the season, for a total of 76 goals.
Important numbers and a good campaign for a group that was largely made up of the Under 15 Italian champions in 2021/22 and that confirmed itself among the most competitive years at national level. Now, for the young Rossoneri, the possibility of a further age group jump with the Under 17. Or even higher, considering how Coach Abate's Primavera team has fielded - during 2022/23 - several under-age players.
