UNDER 17 WOMEN'S, AN IMPRESSIVE CAMPAIGN

The penalty shoot-out lottery proved first sweet and then bitter for Coach Treccani's young Rossoneri. Rewarded in the Semifinal in the Derby against Inter and unlucky in the Scudetto Final a few days later. The Rossoneri's Under 17 women's team, in fact, came very close to winning the title again - reigning champions from the previous season - and was only beaten from the eleven metres by Roma, at the end of an electrifying year.

Despite the painful defeat, the season gone by cannot but bring good memories and many lessons for the future to the young Milanese team. An exciting and satisfying journey accompanied the Rossoneri from the first league games to the very last act, with many obstacles overcome in between. It matters little, therefore, if in the last round the 2006 and 2007 born - but also 2008 - were not rewarded by good luck and incidents, because the path undertaken remains of absolute value.

Rewinding the ribbon of this long season, it all started with Group D of the Regional Phase, which ended with the Rossonere on top with 14 victories in as many matches and a whopping 171 goals scored against only two conceded. This was followed by an unchallenged lead in Group 3 of the Interregional Phase: another zero in the loss column and nine victories in ten matches. And here comes the Final Phase: 0-1 and 6-1 inflicted on Napoli in the Quarterfinals, before the victory in the Semifinals in the Derby: 2-2 with a subsequent hurrah on penalties.

Many elements of a secure future, constant growth and an enviable team spirit. These are just some of the fruits of Coach Treccani and his staff's labour. The coach drew a balance of the year: "I am certainly satisfied, during this season we have experienced unique emotions and sensations, perhaps the icing on the cake was missing, but the path that led us to the final at the beginning of August was a continuous crescendo. The girls have improved and the overall balance is therefore absolutely positive".
