MARCO PELLEGRINO: OUR FOCUS

Marco Pellegrino is the newest arrival, the ninth so far at AC Milan during this summer transfer window. A young and talented player, as defined by the profile drawn up by the Club. The Argentine arrives to complete the set of central defenders available to Mister Pioli and brings along a unique set of skills, given his preferred left foot, which differentiates him from his new Rossoneri teammates. Pellegrino has a good individual technique and the ideal characteristics of a modern defender: solid and attentive in his marking, but also skilled in setting up and building in the game.

Born on 18 July 2002 in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, Marco had a long career at Club Atlético Platense, the team where he grew up (playing there since 2010) and the only club where he played before arriving at the Rossoneri club. After having played through the entire youth system with Los Calamares, he made his debut in the senior team on 14 March 2023, getting a start straight away, in a 1-1 draw against Vélez Sarsfield, on the 7th matchday of the Argentine Primera División.

Marco was convincing right away, and it didn't take him long to take control of the centre of the rearguard. Since his debut, he made seventeen appearances for the club in the Argentinian top flight. At 1.84m tall, the defender born in 2002 has excellent height and great skill in the air, and with these fundamental characteristics, he scored in the last match he played with Platense, a goal in injury time that lead to the 1-1 draw against Gimnasia La Plata.

Scored at the end of July 2023, this was also the first goal of his professional career: the centre-back thus greets his new fans in the best way possible, ready to leap with enthusiasm and courage into his new adventure with the Rossoneri. The national team is every footballer's dream, and AC Milan could also be the right springboard for him to get the chance to play at an international level.
