    MILAN FUTURO'S POSITIVE LEGACY

    FocusMay 13th 2026

Like in 2022/23, AC Milan Women's season started with one victory and two defeats in the first three matches. The home defeats to Roma and Juventus sandwiched a proud away victory at Napoli: the result is an unwarranted slow start for the Rossonere, considering the great impressions left in a competitive preseason of high levels. The positive side, in this case, this schedule gives the Rossonere two chances to immediately bounce back.

In fact, we are in the middle of the first week of the 2023/24 season with two matches. The season opener in the Women's Coppa Italia, with the match away to Hellas Verona of Serie B followed by another match away from the PUMA House of Football: the Lombardy derby against Como Women, who have made a great start with two victories in the first three rounds. Two important meetings, an opportunity to bounce back in the best possible manner.

It starts, then, with the Cup match, a competition in which Ganz's team has performed in well in recent seasons. AC Milan Women, in fact, come off the back of three Semifinals and a Final in the last four seasons - excluding 2019/20 interrupted for the Covid-19. The new format, with only elimination matches and no group stage, makes the stakes high right from the start. The Scaligere have won six points from their first three Serie B matches, and are in third place behind the leading pair of Ternana and Lazio.

The difference in level will undoubtedly be important, but Ganz's girls have always distinguished themselves in facing all the cup matches of the last seasons with personality and great competitive spirit. It will be important to find the result, reversing the course of the last performances in which play on the pitch has been strong, but the real chances have been few and far between. It is a long season, and no goal is yet out of reach for a new group looking for continuity. Let's bounce back with Hellas Verona and Como Women, then, to relaunch ourselves with ambition and a desire to succeed.
