UNDER-16, GOALS AND MUCH MORE

A look at the Rossoneri's positive start to the season

Fun and exciting: two adjectives that describe our Under-16s' start to the season under Coach Baldo. After a thrilling run last season, which ended with reaching the Scudetto semi-final stage, the young Rossoneri officially got their league campaign under way just a few weeks ago, with new objectives and excitement ahead.

Only four games have been played in Group B, but already much has been said: nine points out of twelve earned from the class of 2008, following three wins over Venezia, Südtirol and Monza, and a defeat to the current leaders, Como. A comeback win against the Arancioneroverdi opened proceedings (3-1), while a 4-0 home hammering of Monza last time out has strengthened the Rossoneri's ambitions.

What has stood out the most so far is the ease at which the lads have been able to score: already nine different players have got on the scoresheet, grabbing 13 goals in total - an average of more than three a game - taking them to the top of the goalscoring charts. For example, the away trip to Südtirol, which ended 5-0, saw five different scorers for Coach Baldo's side.

But it isn't only on the attacking front where things are going well, with the team also having the best defensive record at this point of the season thanks to only conceding three goals and collecting two clean sheets in the most recent outings. We are only at the start; numbers and stats are still all relative and what matters now is working day in day out, giving their maximum in every training session and growing game on game. This is our Under-16s' objective.
