PLAYER PROFILE: SILVIA RUBIO ÁVILA

Following a long injury, she's back and raring to go. From a tumultuous and challenging period, Silvio Rubio Ávila is now looking to her Rossonero future. Born in Madrid on 12 October 2000, she developed at Madrid CFF, with whom she played for five seasons before joining the Rossonere in July 2022. Having arrived full of expectations and hopes to play her best football, she had a difficult first season due to an injury that kept her out for a lengthy period of time.

She made her debut and got injured all in the same afternoon. She came off the bench against Fiorentina on matchday 1 of Serie A 2022/23, which remains her only appearance for the Club to date. In that same game, Silvia, in a stroke of bad fortune, was forced off, but she has never lost her determination and has worked hard to come back even stronger. Step by step, she's worked her way back, and now she's ready to turn over a new leaf and make her contribution.

She's a midfielder with quality, elegance and personality. The fans have waited for a long while to admire her playing, and it seems that the time is near. In recent weeks, the Spanish midfielder has worked with the group and taken part with the Primavera to get back up to match fitness. The Rossonere will also need her contribution to buck the negative trend of this season as they look to get back to form in the league.

Silvia has many aims and dreams. She is hoping to improve her fitness as the year winds to a close and get back out on the pitch, ball at her feet, and perform so that she can earn a spot in the Spain national team, having played for La Roja at youth level. Silvia is back, and she is ready, she's focused on the present but hopeful for the future. "Right now, I'm just happy to be back out there," Silvia said. "It was a long road but I'm here now. I'm training hard and I want to play as much as possible. This group has become my second family. We're a strong side."
