UNDER-18, A POINT AND ON WE GO

The good campaign for Terni's side so far continued with a draw against Empoli

Our Under-18s got back to it with a very tough outing. After a bye week - the group is composed of eleven teams with one side sitting out each weekend - AC Milan travelled to take on leaders Empoli and came away with a draw. It was a vital point, which means they remain just two points off first place, level with Roma in second. Our young Rossoneri also extended their unbeaten run, which began after the derby in October.

Terni's side went into it following back-to-back wins (1-0 against Hellas Verona and 5-0 against Lecce) and the draw in Tuscany has confirmed their good form and kickstarted renewed ambitions for the season. The 0-0 final result at the Centro Sportivo Monteboro reflects what was a hard-fought clash that hung in the balance until the end, with chances falling to either side but two offensive units that underperformed.

It isn't often that our 2006s can't find their way to goal as, prior to Empoli, they were only held by Frosinone. On the other hand, it has become somewhat of a habit to keep a clean sheet and, in general, have a stout defensive unit; they have conceded just eight goals from their first eleven matches, much less than the rest of the competition. It's one of the reasons why performances have been so high and the progress so good.

The Rossoneri now have two fixtures to go before the Christmas break, both of which are tough but exciting prospects. Up next, they take on third-place Bologna at the PUMA House of Football on Sunday 10 December, before a meeting with Atalanta - fourth - in Bergamo. Away from home, AC Milan showed in Empoli that they can play well on the road. It's time to give 100% to ensure that they finish 2023 on a high.
