Can you be young and an expert? The answer is yes, the answer is Emelyne Laurent. At 25, she already has a splendid trophy cabinet. Our latest Player Profile is dedicated to her, going over her first season at AC Milan, and in Italy, with a fine toothcomb. She arrived in the thick of the summer transfer window, part of the vast attacking overhaul carried out by the Club and a key component in Corti's machine.
She began to show herself in the friendlies: after her debut in The Women's Cup, came the goal in the Amos Women's French Cup (against Paris Saint-Germain). Her great free-kick pulled one back (1-2) and was scored, practically, at home. In France, her homeland: she was born in Fort-de-France and started in the Youth Sector at Samaritaine before beginning her career at Montpellier. Stopping by Bordeaux, her take-off began with Lyon, winning and rewinning the Champions League and Ligue 1. Experiences abroad are also on her CV, Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich where she continued to grow and expand her achievements.
To date, her best period with the Rossonere was in October: her goal deep in injury time sealed the win over Napoli in Serie A, and she bagged a brace away to Hellas Verona in the Coppa Italia. The Partenopee represent something positive for her, since she also scored the all-important equaliser in the dying moments of the home game, demonstrating her skills as a winger; she has collected 4 points in the league all by herself. Last weekend she was back from suspension, playing for half an hour. She is like that in personality and characteristics, a positive woman and a dynamic player.
