A chat with the midfielder from Tuscany

An all-rounder. Versatile, multifaceted, capable of carrying out multiple roles. She is dedicated to hard work and sacrifice, but at the same time capable of making exceptional timing runs for winning contributions, as seen by the (many) goals she has scored in her two-year spell with the Rossonere. Valery Vigilucci is all of this and her performances have continued to grow this season, too, as the months go by.

In 2022/23, she featured heavily in the second phase of the campaign, where she doubled her goalscoring tally compared to the first part, with four goals against two. In this latest period, she is retaining her central role and minutes (as a starter or as a substitute) after an injury in the first few months limited her work in the opening fixtures of the season. Her performances have been big, with two (good) goals scored against Pomigliano and Como Women giving her deserved reward.

She is in the best moment of her season, but you wouldn't know it talking to the Volterra native. Valery's concentration and determination is, in fact, that of a player who only thinks about the next match and not about what has already happened. She has a huge desire to show what she is capable of, to continue contributing to the successes of a team she feels fully involved in, starting with next weekend's match at home to Napoli. It is our third fixture of this second phase, a match to keep up the progress seen in the last four league games.

Matches in which Vigilucci was part of and who touched on various Rossonere issues in an exclusive interview on the eve of the match: "We reflected deeply on what happened in the first few months of the season, but now we are just working on a game-by-game basis and we've seen an improvement in the team recently. This year started in a tough way with the injury, but by working every day the results have come. And we are working hard, every day, to instill the Coach's ideas in our minds. It's always gratifying to see thw work done in training transfer over into our performances on the pitch."
