WOMEN'S PRIMAVERA, ANOTHER FINAL

After winning the 2024 and 2023 editions of the Viareggio Women's Cup, our women’s Primavera side will be involved in the final again. It represents a prestigious competition in Italian football, one which is dedicated to the young players in our game.

The Rossonere kicked off their tournament with a thumping 11-0 victory over Livorno (notable braces for Taddei, Rossi and De Marco) and followed this up with a 7-2 win over American side Westchester United (a hat-trick from Minnei) on Wednesday. Six points, 18 goals and top spot with maximum points in Group 1. In short, two brilliant performances to reach the final.

Now, just one match remains - the most exciting of all - and this will be played at 15:00 CET on Friday 21 March at the Stadio Buon Riposo in Seravezza (Lucca). The Rossonere’s opponents will be Juventus, who finished top of Group 2 after drawing 3-3 with Rappresentativa LND and beating SPAL 8-0. In the league, the Bianconere are in first place and have already got the better of AC Milan twice - 3-2 in the reverse fixture and 2-0 in the return match - but Coach Zago’s side are ready to give their all to rewrite history.

The Rossonere are currently in sixth place on the league front, but, with one month remaining, there’s still time to make up ground. For now, they are focused on the Viareggio Women’s Cup. The team know what needs to be done - from the coach to those who celebrated winning it last year - and want to lift the trophy again.
