David Odogu, the 2006-born defender, is a new Rossonero. He has arrived at Milanello right at the end of the summer market, bought on a permanent basis from Wolfsburg. It's a signing for both the present and the future: a defender with huge potential and great physical stature, 191cm tall and 83kg. He made his Bundesliga debut with Wolfsburg last season, racking up three appearances. He is a German national, with Nigerian origins, but he still has plenty to come in his career, and his next chapter is with the Rossoneri.
David is from Berlin, and he learned to play in Union's youth set-up, before signing for Wolfsburg in the summer of 2020: he concluded his time with the German Wolves on 55 appearances, from the youth academy up to his first team debut. He brought himself to the attention of the footballing world with the Germany U17s, who he had a great 2023 with: in the start of June, he won the Euros, and then in the start of the December, he won the World Cup. In both finals, they beat France, both times on penalty kicks. Odogu stood out at the World Cup in particular, starting for the entire tournament.
In terms of technique, the 2006-born player is particularly strong in terms of interceptions and personality on the pitch, as well as his ability in the air. He shows great skill in setting up attacks from the back, and, above all, confidence in driving the ball up the pitch and breaking the lines. These are qualities that will definitely be tested throughout the season, but he shows great potential and is now under the command of Massimiliano Allegri.
