UNDER‑17s MAKING PROGRESS

Under-17s championship, AC Milan 4-4 Cagliari. Last weekend wasn't just a match, but a spectacle full of goals and emotions, both unpredictable and thrilling. On Sunday at the PUMA House of Football, anything could have happened. Avogadro’s early penalty seemed to signal an easy path ahead, but within just half an hour, the Sardinians not only came back but even took the lead at 3-1.

The Rossoneri did not give up, they pushed forward and created chances. The goal that brought them back into the game and close the gap came from Menon. The second half was even more exciting. When Petrone equalised, there was still plenty of time left, and it seemed like the crucial moment to push for the win. But then Mehlstrand struck again (his second goal) to give the visitors the lead. In response, Rusu, inspired by Menon, struck equalise, and the points were shared. 

An action-packed draw and a performance that highlighted the team's strengths and weaknesses, depending on how you look at it. The attack was in top form, while the defence has some work to do. But that’s normal for a group of young players who are still growing, it's all part of the process. This was the U17's second home draw, after the 2-2 in their season opener and the thrilling 3-2 win in the derby. It's still early doors: the Rossoneri are close to the playoff zone, seven points off the top, with a game in hand and nearly a full season ahead.

Coach Baldo commented on the U17s start to the 2025/26 season: "My first impressions are positive, the team is growing, and I'm happy with them. The start of the season has not been easy, we have faced strong opponents who have really challenged us. We were excellent in the derby. With new players settling in and some absences, there's plenty of room for individual and team growth. Right now, our focus is not just on the result, but on building cohesion within the squad."
