THE CAMPAIGN OF THE UNDER‑14s

A category that represents the transition between basic training and competitive play, the Under 14 team is often seen as a crucial turning point for young players. This group, the Giovanissimi, has so far been the standout team of the season after five wins from five league matches, tied with Torino at the top of Group B, scoring 29 goals and conceding just five. 

Coach Alessandro Artusa explained, "The start of the season has been positive. I already had the opportunity to train the team in the Under 9 category, and I am really happy to be back with them and to help them continue growing. My staff and I are satisfied with the group, because they're working very enthusiastically and with discipline. Each player is showing a desire to improve and to be ready for the team. They react positively to the working demands in training, assimilating the concepts that we're trying to spread". 

Given the importance of the season, Coach Artusa wants to put the attention on the methods of work: "As requested by the club, we put the player at the centre of what we do in training, 360 focus on their growth, be it from a technical-tactical view, physical-athletic or in terms of their character. We are aware that there's a long road ahead, we will continue with enthusiasm, dedication and a sense of belonging to the Club, certain that through hardworking everyday, we will be able to continue contributing to the grow of our players".

Growth that doesn't just come through domestic competition: "We've already had the chance to play in two prestigious tournaments, in which the team showed a very positive attitude and put in some great performances against very good teams like Benfica and Real Madrid, making us proud of the work we've done so far. The start in the league has also been positive and is allowing us to see the progress made by each player every week", Coach Artusa concluded.
