FOR THE ROSSONERE A 2025 WITH PROGRESS AND GOALS

Reflecting on a year with Suzanne Bakker's team

With the closely contested 3-2 win in Genoa, in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia Women, AC Milan Women closed out 2025. It's been a long year, which saw Suzanne Bakker's side contending once again for a place in the top half of the standings in an increasingly competitive and tightly contested league. The current standings demonstrate this perfectly, as there are seven teams separated by just four points fighting for two spots in the Women's Champions League, while the league leaders, Roma, sit comfortably at the top (five points ahead of second place).

Over the 12 months that are now coming to an end, the Rossonere took to the pitch 28 times across all competitions: 22 league games, three in the Coppa Italia, and three in the new Serie A Women's Cup. The overall record is fairly even in terms of results (eleven wins, seven draws, and ten defeats), but it is worth noting the team's return to the Poule Scudetto (last season), as well as the impressive results against Roma and Fiorentina in 2024/25, and Juventus in 2025/26.

Taking a look back at 2024, it was certainly a year lacking in goals, whereas in 2025, Bakker's girls came close to an average of almost 2 goals per match with a total of 54 goals scored (by 19 different players) and five players finding the net at least four times. Evelyn Ijeh takes top spot with 13 goals scored, followed by Dompig on six, Arrigoni on five, and the Renzotti-Van Dooren duo on four each, both of whom had stellar displays at the start of the season. It is also worth highlighting Karen Appiah, our young talent, who has had an excellent year.

The 2007-born forward is not only the top scorer of the Women's Primavera this season (eleven goals in total), but she has also scored her debut professional goal recently against Ternana in the cup and Napoli in the league. The First Team and Primavera squads often work together in close continuity and now turn their focus to 2026 with the aim of continuing on this journey of growth and fine-tuning areas of improvement, fuelled by fresh ambition. Forza Rossonere!
