The Rossonere's 2025/26 season comes to an end with their last match, played last Sunday against Ternana. A statistical look at their campaign shows that they finished sixth with 32 points, but it's not a position that truly reflects the team's journey. The Rossonere spent a long time battling it out to break into the top three before a late drop in form that allowed Juventus to open up a decisive gap. What ultimately proved costly was a lack of a so-called 'killer instinct', which could have led to a different result in the two 0-0 draws at home against Como and Napoli in March and April, and the second leg of the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina.

The season still had plenty of highs as well as its lows, including several key players like Sorelli, Stokić, and Renzotti suffering long-term injuries. It was especially disappointing for Renzotti, who seemed to have just found her momentum and was enjoying an especially promising run of form with plenty of goal contributions. The highs included three players from the youth sector, Nadine, Sara, and Monica, all of whom were crucial in winning the 2024 Primavera Scudetto, making it onto the squad and becoming key players for the Rossonere.

    Rossonere's celebration

The summer transfer window also proved fruitful with Kayleigh van Dooren being the team's strongest striker this season with eight goals across all competitions (seven in Serie A and one in the Women's Cup). Thea Kyvåg and Soo-Jeong Park both recorded four assists each and brought creativity to the attack, while Kay-Lee de Sanders and Milicia Keijzer's consistency offered coach Bakker's squad depth and reliability in defence. Sandra Estévez Ogalla proved to be ready on her debut call-up, making a crucial penalty save in the big game against Juventus.

As for the Primavera side, they managed to clinch the league title after two years, once again demonstrating the quality and strength of the Club's project. The Youth Sector continues to be a valuable pool of talent and inspirational ideas for the future, and the Club remains fully committed to furthering this development. The team will head into next season with renewed passion and drive to continue improving, while maintaining the bold attacking style that has always set this side apart.
