Rúben Amorim's AC Milan have claimed their first win of the summer, beating Manchester United 4-2 in Wrocław with just eight days to go until their league opener. Twice behind after conceding early in each half, the Rossoneri fought back through goals from Chukwueze, Cissè, Ramos and Loftus-Cheek. It was a highly encouraging afternoon in Poland in front of a packed Tarczyński Arena, and an impressive response to the defeat against Chelsea in Jakarta, where the scoreline was somewhat harsh on the Rossoneri. As the Serie A opener against Torino approaches, Amorim's principles are beginning to take shape, with an effective high press, width provided by the wide players and purposeful possession.
Samuel Chukwueze was particularly impressive, scoring AC Milan's first equaliser before setting up Cissé for the second and Ramos for the goal that put the Rossoneri ahead. The latter headed home his first goal in Rossoneri colours, while Cissé also opened his account for the Club. Lorenzo Torriani delivered another encouraging display, saving a Bruno Fernandes penalty towards the end of the first half. There was also a moving tribute to Franco Baresi, with a special display organised by Milan Club Polonia in the stands. The Rossoneri now have a week of focused, intensive work ahead as they prepare for their Serie A opener away to Torino on Sunday at 20:45 CEST.

Manchester United took an early lead through Maguire, who rose highest to head home Fernandes' corner. AC Milan responded with some effective high pressing, Pavlović winning the ball back before finding Loftus-Cheek in an excellent shooting position, but his weak effort made for a comfortable save for Lammens (8'). The same two players were involved again in the 15th minute, this time Rubes striking with power and Lammens producing an excellent save with his foot. The Rossoneri continued to push with courage and intent, Cissé curling an effort just over from the edge of the box (17'). The deserved equaliser arrived in the 37th minute: Jashari won the ball high up the pitch, Ramos unselfishly provided the assist and Chukwueze tapped into an empty net to make it 1-1. United were awarded a penalty after 41 minutes, but Torriani guessed correctly and kept out Bruno Fernandes' effort.
United started the second half on the front foot, with Torriani alert during a goalmouth scramble. The Red Devils regained the lead through Dorgu, who capitalised on a mistake from Terracciano in the build-up to make it 2-1 (51'). The Rossoneri responded by taking control once again and equalised through Cissè in the 57th minute. He started and finished the move, turning home Chukwueze's assist to make it 2-2. Amorim made his first changes on the hour mark, introducing Gila, Modrić, Bartesaghi and Saelemaekers, before AC Milan completed the turnaround. Ramos scored his first goal for the Club, heading home another pinpoint Chukwueze cross (68'). The Rossoneri were now in full flow, and Loftus-Cheek raced onto Gonçalo's pass to make it 4-2 in the 71st minute. Comotto and Camarda both had chances late on before the referee brought the game to an end after three minutes of stoppage time.
