It's been 40 years since AC Milan played in the Milan Derby 'away from home' against a Nerazzurri side managed by a former Juventus coach. In fact, this will be the first time since March 1987. Back then it wasn't Antonio Conte in the Inter dugout but Giovanni Trapattoni, while it was also the last Milan Derby with Nils Liedholm in charge of the Rossoneri. It was a tough and tense game, with AC Milan having come into it as underdogs. The Nerazzurri took the lead in the first half, but the Rossoneri fought back in the second 45 minutes to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Galderisi and Virdis. And speaking of first times, let's talk about Ibra and the Derby.

Zlatan's first Milan Derby came back in October 2006 in the first post-Calciopoli clash between the sides. Inter took a 3-0 and then 4-1 lead 'away' to AC Milan, with Ibrahimović also getting on the scoresheet for the Nerazzurri. But the Rossoneri showed great character in the final stages, almost making a comeback as the match finished 3-4. But despite AC Milan's fightback, Inter triumphed by a one-goal margin. And a single, vital goal was enough four years later. Benitez against Allegri was the battle of the benches in November 2010 as Ibra won it for the Diavolo in his first Derby as a Rossoneri player. Zlatan's penalty opened the scoring early on and that was enough, despite Abate being sent off and the closing stages being an eventful affair. This was the last time that the Diavolo emerged victorious in Inter v AC Milan.
