History
After raising the roof on that magical night of AC Milan v Napoli at San Siro and at the Club World Cup in Yokohoma, Alexandre Pato went on a minor goal drought for Milan. Having failed to score against Udinese and Atalanta, our Brazilian from Pato Branco’s first goal in his new home stadium came against Gasperini's Genoa. It was back in January 2008, a tough match, but the former Internacional striker made things look easy. David Beckham’s goal against ‘Il Grifone’ was our English champion’s first goal at San Siro after his first for the Club away to Bologna. A free kick of the highest quality, celebrated by the entire stadium. Milito’s equaliser took some of the joy out of things, but Becks’ moment of magic still remains in the memory of Rossoneri fans around the world.
Marco Borriello was out for that match with Beckham’s stamp on it in February 2009, but the former Genoa man Marcobaleno was back for the following season, playing a starring role with two goals in that incredible 5-2 comeback against Genoa in front of the Curva Sud in 2010. Eight months later, it was a certain Zlatan Ibrahimović in Borie’s place, transforming the game between the Rossoneri and Rossoblù in a superb duel against Spanish defender Chico. Ibra’s goal at the start of the second half secured a hard-fought win over Genoa for Milan, our big Swedish striker beating Eduardo and securing the three points for the Rossoneri.
