It was a positive night for the Rossoneri players involved in international football. Krzysztof Piątek returned to goalscoring ways for Poland in their 2-1 win over Israel, five months since he last hit the net for his country which was also against Israel on 10 June. For Kris, it was the fourth goal of the season and the fourth of his Poland career. As mentioned, Poland won 2-1 at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa with Piątek's goal making it 0-2 in the 54th minute.

Franck Kessie also scored, converting the decisive penalty as Côte d'Ivoire beat Niger. Gradel missed from the spot in the 23rd minute before the AC Milan man stepped up in the 68th minute to score the winner in the first qualifier for the 2021 African Cup of Nations. Ante Rebić started and remained on until the 54th minute as Croatia beat Slovakia 3-1 which mathematically secured qualification to EURO 2020 for the Croatians.

Matteo Gabbia played 90 minutes as the Italy Under-21s picked up an important win over Iceland. At the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara, the Azzurrini won 3-0 and moved ahead of Iceland into second in the group. Matteo Gabbia's performance was a positive one as he started at centre-back alongside Fiorentina's Ranieri. The match was won by a Sottil goal and Patrick Cutrone brace.
