With the various fixtures now starting to come to an end during the third international break of the season, Çalhanoğlu was in action on Sunday evening for Turkey. The Turks, who had already mathematically qualified for the 2020 European Championship, beat hosts Andorra 2-0 thanks to Unal's first-half brace.
The second goal scored by Coach Güneş's team came from the penalty spot. The spot-kick was awarded after Hakan, who wore the captain's armband during the game at the Estadi Nacional, played a great ball through to his teammate Unal, who was subsequently brought down by the opposition goalkeeper. Çalha started as a mezzala in a 3-5-2 formation and went on to play 60 minutes. Following this result, Turkey moved up to 23 points after ten matchdays, thus finishing in second place in Group H.
