Tuesday 30 March marked a busy day for the three Rossoneri currently playing for their respective national sides. In the qualifiers for the 2021 African Cup, Frank Kessie got the fourth goal of his career for the Ivory Coast, with the Elephants beating Ethiopia 3-1: the Rossoneri midfielder converted a penalty to make it 2-0 in the 19th minute, played a full game and showed himself yet again to be a pillar of Beaumelle's side.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu also bagged a goal (his second in a week) and an assist in a 2022 World Cup qualifiers match for Turkey against Latvia. The Turkish midfielder made a great impact in the first half before coming off in the 65th minute in a match that ended bitterly for his national side, who lost their initial 3-1 advantage and drew 3-3.
The third Rossoneri star of Tuesday's international matches is Matteo Gabbia, who upon returning from his suspension played the full 90 minutes of Italy U21's 4-0 win against Slovenia. A victory which put the Azzurrini through to the quarter-finals of the U21 Euros, with Italy scheduled to play the winners of Group D in Ljubljana on 31 May.
Finally, Alexis Saelemaekers didn't play for Belgium against Belarus, nor did Jens Petter Hauge represent Norway in their clash against Montenegro for the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers. Also, Brahim Díaz didn't make an appearance for Spain against the Czech Republic for the U21 Euros.
