AT THE BREAK: AN EVEN STRONGER TEAM

AC Milan have shown great signs in testing matches, now they will have a chance to recuperate

From Lazio at home to Atalanta away. The cycle of matches between the first and the second international break began and ended in the same way: with an AC Milan win in which a great opponent was beaten and dominated. Seven games in three weeks, five in Serie A and two in the Champions League, with four wins and one draw in Italy, and two defeats in Europe: a haul full of points - 19, which equals the best start since 2003/04, the year of the Scudetto - and full of good performances. In the heart of September and at the beginning of October, the Rossoneri gave a clear and mature demonstration of their strength, character, and quality.

Alone in second place alone on 19 points, -2 behind leaders Napoli. In the league the path was nearly perfect, starting from the 2-0 against Lazio up until the 3-2 against Atalanta: the most recent and perhaps the most precious success, earned with merit despite some absentees. The injured players will be one of the main issues to try and resolve at Milanello: Ibrahimović, Giroud, Bakayoko, and Krunić will now have some time to recover and make themselves available to give some breathing room to Coach Pioli's squad.

In Europe, the results were lacking. But if in Liverpool the Diavolo had suffered the impetus of their opponent and a stadium in a competition as beautiful as it is challenging, and above all new for a large part of the atmosphere, with Atlético Madrid at San Siro there was a great show for half an hour; then the incidents had a negative impact. Tonali's leadership, Leão's incisiveness, Díaz's goals, Hernández's plays, Rebić's sacrifice: several individuals have stood out in a team that continues to grow and unite.

After the break, for which twelve AC Milan players have been called up to their respective countries, an even more important and complicated portion of the season will begin in which the calendar, between Serie A and Champions League, will line up Roma at the Olimpico, Porto at the Dragão and then the Derby. The tests never end, but this AC Milan team today can't wait to face them and pass them.
