HERNÁNDEZ'S FRANCE WINS THE NATIONS LEAGUE

The 2021 edition of the UEFA Nations League goes to France and their two Rossoneri representatives: Hernández and Maignan. Les Bleus beat Spain 2-1 at San Siro, following up on their World Cup title in Russia in 2018. Mike may have been an unused substitute, but Theo was, once again, a key figure in the match, building on the goal to make it 3-2 against Belgium in the semi-final on Friday. The Rossoneri's number 19, in fact, provided the key assist to set up Mbappé's winner ten minutes from full time, after Benzema had cancelled out the opening goal of the game scored by Oyarzabal.

Theo Hernández certainly left his mark in his third appearance for France and it was a performance that could see him rise higher through the ranks within Didier Deschamps' squad. Earlier in the day, Italy took on Belgium in the third-place playoff in Turin. The Azzurri ran out 2-1 winners against a Belgium side that included Alexis Saelemaekers, who started and played 59 minutes, hitting the crossbar in the first half while the score was still 0-0.
