It was a night of celebration for Pierre Kalulu, who booked his ticket to Euro 2023 with France U21. Before the game, they knew that only a point was needed to gain qualification for Sylvain Ripoll’s squad, and a 3-3 draw with Ukraine at Necmi Kadıoğlu Stadyumu in Istanbul sealed it, finishing off a successful campaign for the French with 26 points achieved with eight wins and two draws. On the right flank for France was our very own Pierre Kalulu, who started and played the full 90 minutes.
There was a 2-0 win for Portugal over the Czech Republic with goals from João Cancelo and Gonçalo Guedes. Rafa Leão came on in the 80th minute replacing Diogo Jota. Meanwhile, Franck Kessie didn’t appear for the Ivory Coast in their 0-0 draw against Lesotho.
