Group D reached its conclusion yesterday, with France (already qualified after the first two days) and, surprisingly, Australia advancing to the round of 16. Simon Kjær's Denmark were eliminated from the tournament, defeated 1-0 by the Oceanic team and were unable to repeat their success from the 2018 edition. Our defender was not used by coach Kasper Hjulmand. Leckie's goal in the 60th minute proved decisive.
France also lost, against Tunisia, but the final day had no bearing on their position in the table, who retained the top spot in the group and will face Poland in the Round of 16. The North Africans won thanks to Khazri's goal but were unable to celebrate fully as they could not avoid elimination. Deschamps' two Rossoneri available to him, Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernández, did not take the field. France return to the pitch on Sunday at 16.00 CET against Poland.
