KRUNIĆ BAGS BRACE FOR BOSNIA

Continental qualifiers have begun for five Rossoneri with their respective national teams: Krunić, Leão, Kjær and Tonali for EURO 2024 and Bennacer for AFCON 2023. The most impressive performance on the day (Thursday 23 March) came from Rade Krunić, who bagged himself a first-half brace in Bosnia's 3-0 win over Iceland in Group J. Though Rafa Leão's Portugal claimed top spot in the group after one matchday with a 4-0 thumping of Liechtenstein. Rafa added his impetus from the 67th minute. Simon Kjær started and put in a captain's performance as Denmark beat Finland 3-1 to kick off Group H.

Bennacer and Algeria extended their lead at the top of Group F of AFCON qualifying. Ismaël started and played the full 90 minutes in the Fennec Foxes' 2-1 win over Niger in Algiers - Mahrez scored a later winner. The same scoreline occurred in Italy's game though this time it went against Tonali as the Azzurri were beaten by England in Naples. Sandro played the final 20 minutes when Italy hammered away at a resolute England defence.
